The threat from within !

 Whether Earth has one or two billion years left before being consumed by our exploding Sun is of little importance to those of us who are its inhabitants in December 2020 ! The race is on now to quell a raging conflagration of infection due to Covid-19 by vaccinating the population of the entire planet using one of many hastily produced vaccines. Will it be enough and in time ?

It seems we have less time than was originally thought !

So in summary we have probably less than 2 billion years left and not 5 billion !
This after only 5 years ( since my last post!). Perhaps in another 5 years we might be told we only have a billion years to go , give or take !

So according the to incredible Professor Brian Cox we are probably back to 5 billion years or so before Earth is “toast”

how important are we in the scheme of things?

well lets see ... if we divide 3,000,000 by 5,000,000,000 and then multiply by 100 we get 0.06% .. thats the percentage of time since Earth was formed that we have been around !

would we be missed if we disappeared tomorrow?

we should all strive to be more Iron like. everthing else in the universe is trying to become like it!
